Hall & Gans Marketing

Working as a freelance designer and graphic design assistant, I had the opportunity to work under the guidance of a senior graphic designer while collaborating with multiple clients. This allowed me to learn valuable skills in HTML and website design while also honing my graphic design abilities. Working with a variety of clients taught me the importance of clear communication and the ability to adapt to different design styles and project requirements. Additionally, I had the opportunity to design advertisements for various media platforms, developing a keen eye for creating effective and visually appealing designs that engage the audience. Using illustrative skills to create visually appealing merchandise that conveys a brand's message and values. Through these experiences, I gained a strong understanding of the importance of attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and effective project management skills.

During my time at Hall & Gans Marketing, I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of creative projects for one of our main clients: a prominent chain of dispensaries located in San Diego, California. My responsibilities were diverse, spanning both print and digital media. I designed advertisements for print and social media, developed graphics for the company website, updated web content, and created promotional materials such as coupons and in-store advertisements. I also contributed to billboard campaigns and digital content for their in-store screens, among other tasks.

I worked closely under the guidance of Michelle Huffaker, the Senior Graphic Designer, who was instrumental in maintaining the visual identity and consistency of the brand. Her role focused on ensuring that all designs adhered to the company’s established brand guidelines, while my primary focus was on organizing and presenting information in a clear, visually engaging way. I honed my skills in creating effective design hierarchy, ensuring that each piece conveyed its message with clarity and impact, and that visual elements were well-balanced and aligned with the brand’s overall aesthetic.

In collaboration with Michelle and the broader creative team, I developed designs that both communicated the dispensary's offerings and resonated with their target audience. My work was aimed at making the brand feel approachable, professional, and in tune with the local culture of San Diego.

Below are just a few examples of the projects I contributed to during my time at Hall & Gans:
